Where I've Been — And What's Coming Next

Hey everyone, just an update on things. I've had a very turbulent few months. We moved home, I had to decorate the full place as well as act like a site agent, dealing with other trades. Between this project, my actual day job, school summer holidays with 3 kids and my father in law passing away I've hardly had anytime for writing. I've been marketing when I can but that's about it. The last couple of weeks I've been able to get an hour here or there to work on my WIP's. They are getting there. The 4th book in the fall series is coming along, and my wee side project, a journal type book follow corporal McGeoch trying to reach his c/o after they are separated after a zombie apocalypse starts. This one is a spin off from The Rise of the Iron Major. I'm about half way there I reckon with this one. Cover reveal will be in a few months and I'm hoping with summer nearly over and things going back to normal I'll have more time for writing and I can finally...

Scotland has fallen

Image
Scotland was once known for its dramatic landscapes, deep history, strong cultural identity, vast glens, and remote lochs. Now it’s a country ruled by the dead. Zombies roam the once beautiful countryside, cities, and towns — hunting anyone still unlucky enough to be alive. Civilisation has fallen. Communities burn. Survival comes at a cost. Check out The Fall Series, beginning with Before the Fall, and follow a group of ordinary people as they fight to survive the end of the world… and the horrors of the new one that followed. A world filled with the dead. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0FNXDG5FP. UK https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FNXDG5FP. Bonus chapter from Beneath the Silence.

So tonight I'm sharing with you a chapter that never made it into Beneath the Silence.  It follows on from a scene in the book but doesn't affect the story line whatsoever.  So enjoy a rare night of laughter and normality in New Haven, where even in the darkest times, a little hope can still be found in the most unexpected places. Character back story

Image
Heres a little back story on Ellis from After the Fall. Hope you enjoy. Ellis had built his career around one principle. Containment. Before the outbreak, he specialised in disease control. Outbreak modelling. Risk assessment. He believed that any threat, no matter how severe, could be managed with the right data and the right response. When the infection spread beyond prediction, Ellis did not panic. He stayed home with his wife and children. Followed the guidance. Boarded windows. Counted supplies. He told them it would pass, or at least slow, if people stayed where they were. For a time, he was right. Then the food ran out. Ellis made the decision to leave their home when staying became more dangerous than moving. He took them to the university where he worked, to the laboratories he knew better than any shelter or church. They were not alone. Other scientists had already gathered there. Researchers, technicians, lecturers. People who understood what was happening and why it mattere...

The Rise of the Iron Major

Image
Releases on 5th January 2026 A statement from captain Hay. "They’ll tell you Damien Blackridge is cold. That he crossed lines others wouldn’t. That when the world started tearing itself apart, he chose order over mercy. I won’t deny any of that. What I will say is this: when the noise hit—when command collapsed, civilians panicked, and the dead started getting back up—Damien was the only one still standing still enough to decide. Not the safest decision. Not the kindest. The necessary one. You can judge him for Folkestone. People do. They weren’t there when the tunnel started breathing. They didn’t watch warning shots fail, bodies get back up, and a line turn into the last thing holding the country together. Damien didn’t invent the rules—we were already playing by them. He just understood faster than the rest of us that hesitation was another word for death. Every order he gave kept someone alive, even if the cost was carried by him alone. So read his story. Not to forgive him....
