Authors Worth Reading
There are a lot of independent authors out there trying to get their stories in front of readers, and some of them deserve far more attention than they get.
This page is where I’ll share authors and books that I think are worth checking out. Some are writers I’ve discovered through the indie author community, others are people whose work has caught my attention along the way.
This isn't a paid promotion page, and nobody has bought their way onto it. If I've added an author here, it's because I genuinely think they're worth a look.
I'll keep adding to the list as I discover more.
J.D. Nutbeam — Haunted
I've been speaking with J.D. for a few months now, and during that time we've built a good friendship through our shared love of writing.
I picked up Haunted and genuinely loved the story. J.D. has created something that pulls you in and keeps you reading, and it's a book I'm more than happy to recommend.
Supporting other independent authors is something I think is important, but I won't recommend a book simply because I know the person who wrote it. Haunted is here because I read it, enjoyed it, and think it's well worth your time.

Danny Mac — The Dead Series
Danny is one of the authors who has been part of my own writing journey from very early on. When I was first looking at publishing my work, he took the time to talk me through KDP and helped set me on the path to becoming a published author.
Since then, I've read the first two books in his Dead Series and really enjoyed them. As a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction myself, it's always interesting to see another author's take on the genre, and Danny's series is one I'm happy to recommend.
So this recommendation is a little more personal. Danny didn't just write books I've enjoyed — he helped me take those first steps towards getting my own books out there, and I've never forgotten that.

I first met Sarnai through an app called tumblr. She helped me set it up and navigate it. She also brought me into the group she runs on Tumblr.
We now recommend each other on threads and big up each others books. I've personally read her changing waters book which I think is first class.
I believe we have built up mutual respect and an online friendship.
Her is a short bio for her.
A book lover herself, Sarnai Briar hopes to inspire the same type of creativity and imagination in readers that her favorite stories did for her. Whether expanding upon a universe or creating a new one, she is at her happiest (and most devious) while writing. Through cultural diversity and mental health representation, she wants readers to feel seen and heard in her books.
